- I have been serving Boulder County, Nederland, and Gilpin County for the past 12 years. I work directly with homeowners and property associations to remove and treat trees infected with mountain pine beetle . I attend regular trainings in mountain pine beetle management, forest health, and fire mitigation. All trainings are conducted by Colorado State horticulturist's, foresters, and Boulder County Land Use as part of the Forest Health Initiative. Detailed information on the spread of mountain pine beetle, biology, and the most recent findings in the use of new practices like pheromone pouches, chemical sprays, and solar treatments are provided during the training. I have developed my own treatment system utilizing aluminium screening, this has proven to be very effective at treating wood infected with mountain pine beetle.
